Back To Vidyya Human Organs, Made To Order

I'll Take A Kidney Please

Celera Genomics of Rockville, Maryland and Geron of Menlo Park, California have joined in a partnership to work towards growing new organs from a patient's own cells.

Geron has an incredible and unique supply of human stem cells, which, in theory, can grow into a set type of tissue. Celera has the ability to use their genetic sequencing data to control the type and kind of tissue formation.

The alliance will bring the companies and the world one step closer to realizing the full therapeutic potential of human stem cells.
