Today's Vidyya examines the sexually transmitted disease, Chlamydia. Although infection rates for the disease are high, less than one third of practitioner's test their at risk populations. Last year, an easy to use test that can screen for Chlamydia trachomatis in urine was approved by the FDA. This test enables clinicians to screen for the infection without having to take a genital swab.

This Vidyya issue provides information from well-respected sources on the infection, the treatment and the testing for chlamydia. Practitioners will want to watch for new treatment and screening guidelines for the disease, which are due for release in the next few weeks.
