A focus on the health of children is the subject of today's Vidyya. In July, the US government released a report that had some good things to say about the status of the nation's children. Although some of the indicators show that things are improving, many children in the country still go to bed hungry, are abused or mistreated or lack fundamental health care.
You'll find both a summary and the full text report of "America's Children: Key National Indicators of Well-Being 2000" in this issue. You'll also find information on child abuse and a link between abuse and later drug abuse. We've also included information on new research that seeks to improve the techniques used for interviewing a child abuse victim.
