Glaucoma is a major public health problem in the US. The disease is manifest as aprogressive optic neuropathy that, if left untreated, leads to blindness. Eye Disease Simulations
A patient experiencing an alteration in vision may not be able to communicate to his practitioner exactly what is wrong with his vision. Further, health practitioners may not be familiar with exactly which eye condition a patient suffers from by a given description. For that reason, the National Eye Institute of the National Institutes of Health presents this set of eye disease simulations. The photos can help patients by allowing them to identify just which of the vision disorders they are experiencing and can assist practitioners in the art of diagnosis. Read Eye Disease Simulations.
