Estrogen replacement therapy and menopausal women with history of breast cancer
Estrogen Replacement Therapy (ERT) does not cause new or recurrent breast cancer in menopausal women with a history of treated, localized breast cancer. Findings in a recent study to be published in the November 1 print issue of CANCER indicate that after five years ERT had no adverse effect on survival or compromise disease-free states among women with a history of treated localized breast cancer in the one of the longest follow-up trials to date. This provides additional reassuring evidence of the safety of ERT in menopausal women with treated primary breast cancer who have been heretofore denied the health benefits of ERT. more
